Surgical Burns Lead to Claim of Malpractice

Surgical Burns Lead to Claim of Malpractice

A recent medical malpractice lawsuit has been filed alleging negligence against a local doctor. The lawsuit alleges that as a result of surgical malpractice, the woman suffered serious burns. The complaint also asserts that the doctor was negligent in failing to exercise proper care during surgery. This included the failure to properly monitor the temperature of the equipment used during the surgical procedure.

Surgical burns are one of many complications that can arise during a procedure, and physicians should use care to prevent such injuries from occurring. When a surgeon, nurse or other hospital staff fail to use due care to prevent burns, this may constitute medical malpractice.
